With the exam season fast approaching, now is usually the time where students become a little bit more nervous as the days tick down to the exam day. With the exams still a few weeks a way, a lot of progress can still be made. Students can get an exam boost by going over some past paper questions with a qualified physics teacher prior to the exam. Even if you are confident with the content after two years of study, one session targeted on exam prep can clear up any misconceptions and focus on how to answer questions so that you pick up as many marks as possible. As I say to my students almost every day: you are not being assessed on what you know about physics, you are being assessed on what you show you know about physics.

This may sound like a small difference, but it is a difference. If an examiner is marking a students exam question, it doesn't matter if that student is the most able student in their class, the examiner will not know that. The examiner hasn't spent the last two years with that student, seeing their talent day in and day out. They can only go on what is in front of them. For example, a bright student will know that energy is always conserved. They may think that it is such an obvious and fundamental physical law, that they might use the idea to answer

a question and not bother showing that they have used it. The examiner won't know that they know it and, as a result, they may get penalised by not picking up marks.

This is why exam technique is important and why it is never too late to have some exam prep. You can contact us today to get that exam boost with some targeted tutoring for exam.
